Oct 8, 2014 · For this first entry, I chose to review the Remington factory +2, one of the most popular and widespread extensions for the 870, and one with which I happen to have years of hands-on experience. The ProMag extension kit adds two (2) 3" magnum shells, or three (3) 2-3/4" shells in capacity to 12-gauge Remington 870, 1100 & 11-87 shotguns. The magazine extension is machined from solid billet T6 aluminum alloy, then type III hard-anodized. The extension is secured by a machined steel adapter nut that replaces the factory magazine cap.This is an inexpensive clamp but it should be adequate enough to prevent damage to the magazine extension tube. The description does say it fits all 12 gauge shotguns, but it will not fit a Remington 870 without a little bit of modification.
