The Aquapolis is a special instance in FFXIV that was added in Patch 3.3 during the Heavensward expansion and is part of the Treasure Hunt system. That means, to calculate the mean, you use this sum: (50 *6) / 6= 50. This is simplified. If you want to use the median, this would be 50% (halfway between 50 and 50 is 50). I'm taking the release of Aquapolis in patch 3.3 as an opportunity to discuss the issue of loot distribution in dragonskin maps. More specifically, I've seen three usual behaviours: Free for all. Random loot free, coffer loot (i.e. need/greed/pass window) to holder. Map holder gets all (meaning individual trade of the random loot)Aquapolis. Those who frequent one of Eorzea's many crowded pubs may have heard tell of a certain master thief, in whose long and illustrious career were left countless collectors cursing the gods for their misfortune. Amusing as the stories often are, most dismiss them as cautionary tales, mere parables against material greed. The 60/70 8 man maps can be healer + tank duo'd, i do it with SCH because its just freaking handy for those pesky bonus mobs. Sticking to smaller parties allows for higher chance to get the loot when running ffa. The gagana 70 maps can drop some ok stuff but yeah the 8 man maps are where its at. 1. O_0812.
